The Still Hopeful Podcast

Episode 47: Forever Included: Honouring an Angel in Family Traditions

Season 2 Episode 25

In this episode, I sit down with Brittany, a brave mama who shares her journey less than nine months after the stillbirth of her sweet son, Mason. This is part 2 of our conversation, so be sure to check out Brittany's first episode here.

Brittany opens up about the ways she keeps Mason present in her family’s life: like lighting a candle for him every evening for dinnertime and getting him little presents for holidays.

She also shares how she and her husband navigated telling their toddler son that his baby brother wouldn't be coming home from the hospital. He got to meet him and has a photo of him in his room. It's the kind of conversation parents never envision having with their children, but it's our reality. We talk openly about how we second guess what we say and we end up grieving twice: first for what happened, and then for our children who are growing up without their sibling.

This conversation is a reminder that love doesn’t end with loss, and that our angel babies will always be part of our families in beautiful and meaningful ways.

Be sure to reach out to Brittany and follow along with her journey here on Instagram.
