The Still Hopeful Podcast

Episode 37: Look How Far You've Come

Season 2 Episode 16

In today’s episode, I’m taking a moment to look back: not just to reflect, but to recognize the quiet strength it’s taken to get here. I recently came across an old note I had written to help me remember what to say at a doctor’s appointment… because back then, I couldn’t trust my brain to hold even the simplest details. Honestly? Sometimes I still can’t. But wow, what a journey it’s been.

From crying any time I saw a stroller, avoiding the boys’ aisle at the store, or being completely gutted by pregnancy announcements… to now, where comments that used to destroy me barely register. Not because the pain is gone, but because I’ve done the work to carry it differently.

This episode is about honouring growth: the slow, quiet kind. It’s about the way triggers soften, how strength builds like tiny stones added to your confidence bucket. I talk about gym moments, awkward comments from strangers, little rituals like saying hi to cardinals… and how even in grief, we can make new memories that include the babies we’ve lost.

If you’re in a place where it’s hard to see your progress, this is your reminder: you don’t have to prove your worth, explain your journey, or have it all figured out. Just pause. Look at how far you’ve come. You’ve already got this, you just need to believe it.
