The Still Hopeful Podcast
Welcome to The Still Hopeful Podcast, where we talk about the twists and turns of pregnancy after loss and the highs and lows of life postpartum. I’m Serena, a mom who knows this journey firsthand. My first baby, my sweet Christopher, was stillborn at full term, and now I hold my precious baby girl, Veronica, in my arms. Christopher’s loss, the uncertainty of pregnancy afterward, and the joy of welcoming Veronica home are all parts of my story.
I created this podcast to share my experience and connect with others who understand. Here, we’ll talk openly about grief, the challenges of pregnancy after loss, and the ups and downs of parenting all of our babies. Whether you’re navigating a new pregnancy after experiencing pregnancy loss, or parenting after loss, you’re not alone. Let’s walk this road together with honesty, hope, and healing.

Episode 28: I Met My Younger Self For Coffee - The Viral Poem
Have you heard of Jennae Cecilia's poem, I Met My Younger Self For Coffee from her book, Deep in My Feels?
It's a poem about meeting our younger self for coffee and noticing the striking differences between who we are know and who we once were. With life after baby loss, this hits differently now. If we could go back in time, would we warn our younger selves? I honestly don't know..but I do know that I still struggle with looking at photos of me pre-stillbirth. Do you too?
In this episode, I lead a short guided reflection/meditation to help you visualize talking to a previous version of yourself. I hope it's healing, I hope it's restorative.
This poem reminds me of a meditation I did with the amazing, yoga facilitator, Manpreet who came on the podcast in Episode 18. Listen in to learn more about the incredible revelation I had through her meditation.
